The requirement of the BACP Ethical Framework
for good Practice requires me to have regular supervision.
Part of this is to ensure that the clients' needs
are being met and that all Ethical standards are
adhered to, throughout the counselling process.
It also takes into account the well-being of the
counsellor.
Another essential part of supervision encourages
and facilitates the ongoing self-development, continued
learning and self-monitoring of the counsellor.
My supervisor is fully qualified, accredited
and is an Individual Member of the BACP. She is
also bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice
in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to
the Professional Conduct Procedure therein.
Confidentiality
I treat all information disclosed to me strictly
confidential. Any aspect of my cases discussed with
my supervisor is also treated as confidential. My
clients are not disclosed to any third party. However,
should I feel a client is of danger to his/herself
or others, I reserve the right to inform outside
agencies. This will not be done without, wherever
possible informing/discussing this with my client
first.
