Counselling is a process that facilitate
a safe and secure environment, whereby an individual
can explore painful feelings, emotions and find
alternative ways of addressing them.
This is carried out in a safe, none judgmental
and confidential environment.
It is about discovering who you truly are as
an individual, about learning to explore, face and
deal with traumatic and difficult experiences.
This can take the individual through to a place
where they are better equipped to make the changes
they need to better manage and improve their quality
of lives. It essentially aims to assist the individual
to work towards a more satisfying and constructive
life by facilitating a process whereby he/she can
take control, make decisions in their own lives.
This process enhances growth, trust in the self,
greater freedom for an effective future.
Counselling also involves exploring how past
traumatic experiences can and do affect how people
live and conduct their lives.
Clients are respected for who they are, whatever
their beliefs, life style, religion, ethnicity or
sexual orientation.
